An interesting question! Typical banana dose: 0.1 μSv per banana [1]. Typical concrete building dose: 100μSv per year [2] ie. 1 year in a concrete building = eating 3 bananas a day. I'm not claiming that fly ash laden concrete is going

I just did a guesstimate: Combustion concentrates radioactivity by a factor of 5x to 10x [1]. Fly ash can replace 25-50% of cement [2]. A typical concrete is 16% cement (1 part cement, 2 parts sand and 3 parts gravel) [3]. Hence a concret

I can see the fascination of this problem. There are so many ways to approach it, from addressing the physics, to higher level attempts to get the right look. Searching around, it seems to have justifiably caught the imagination of many.

The Australian classic novel, "For the Term of His Natural Life" by Marcus Clark (1874) contains a fictionalised account of this mutiny and convict life. It's a good read. The novel in turn draws from Clark's earlier pi

Interestingly it was a bunch of Swedes, the Rhythm Hot Shots[1], who contacted Frankie Manning in the 1980s. The dance classes that Frankie Manning did in Australia in the early 2000s were a blast. [1] https://en.wikipedia.org&#

Maintaining balance on uneven ground also works your lower back and pelvic floor more than on a concrete path. Strengthening these can help if you have back plane (and one could argue that chronic pain is an impediment to thinking).

That was my first thought too. My second thought was that the most effective recreation would be to build a SPICE model [1], and whether that SPICE model could run in near real time on a modern CPU. A simple SPICE model should be straight

An undefined variable is an abstract construct. You can model a floating input in as being analogous to an undefined variable and the model will fit reality most of the time, but the underlying reality is still governed by the complexities
