> The people that "broke" (hey, see the quotes?) the user experience you expected and liked are the people that steer the project. They are free to do that, Yes, they have all the freedom to destroy their project.

The author here. I understand that some people have no problems with GNOME 3, that's fine. Based on the evidence I've gathered through the years, my estimate is that half the people that used GNOME 2 liked GNOME 3, and half didn&#

I agree. In fact, a warning saying "don't continue this tone or I'll ban you" would have been more than enough. About the tone, I don't think there was any way I could have conveyed my message that their conclusions were wrong in a way they

I was not the one that brought "done" to the discussion, it was Olav and others. That was pretty off-topic, he should have banned himself. Speculation on the other hand is very relevant to the topic. If you accept you arrived at a conclusio

I didn't act self-centered, I acted as if what I said was true, and I still believe it is. If you say; I've never tried X, but it sucks. I'm pretty certain that's speculation, because you've never tried it, and that's exactly what I told GN

Whatever happened outside bugzilla should have stayed outside bugzilla. In GNOME's bugzilla I always provided value, and to ban me because of a couple of comments that have nothing wrong is overkill. Do you think it would be fair if a judge

I did not dismiss any use-case. As I said; they are mostly the same. So, if you don't need complex use of branches, you would be fine with either git or mercurial, obviously. But that's a chicken and egg situation; you don't know what you a

There's no guarantee that new issues will crop up? Well, that's an argument against mercurial as well, is it not? Hell, it's an argument against anything, so I wonder how you can consider it an argument at all. Actually, the word 'guarantee
