the real problem is build time with the windows filesystem (in my case). switching to wsl2 you get under 20 sec. pretty easily, and most projects > 20 seconds are fixable (that is, if someone fixes it). Deploy time, on the other hand...

just found out this paper by Kelly (which may be widely known as the Kelly criterion), stating that one should maximize the expected value of the logarithm of its capital, independent from one's utility function of money, in which Kell

Interestingly enough, the graph of bank failures looks like the ones Mandelbrot shows in his works about transmission errors if I recall correctly (can't check right now). My conjecture is that markets encode information rather than ot

I'm waiting for the next generation of self-evolving AI. That will be interesting. Perhaps even not useful to humans.

I know that. Humans have made way more tools, and are endangering themselves (and other animals in the process; not all of them). It's not the first time a life form endangers itself and many others (see mass extinctions https:/&

Humans use tools, since sharpened rocks, for some ends. Nothing new under the sun with the computer, or with AI.

I didn't know this way to operate was called such, but it's the only way a sane person (i.e. someone who has to replace a monolith with smaller services AND do maintenance on the result) would.

with a six figures job and leaving it at 5PM, you still have a lot of resources most people don't to make something impactful. I think you're just trying to justify your inability to do something meaningful with other people bad d

Very useful. I searched for "pasta" and almost nothing showed up but I think I am not yet very good at using the tool. Anyway it's very interesting to have a database of some old text about cooking to search.

I can't remember the specific recipe name, but putting uncooked pasta directly in the sauce is a thing you can do (well, you can do anything, as long as you make it taste good). But if unsure, mine is pretty close to the average recipe

beware of labels, because they can sometimes mislead. A whole lot of reports of fraudulent italian products exist (another thing we italians do great is fraud). Many things labeled as X DOC, DOP, DOCG don't necessarily equal high quali

In this case yes, canned is better. Also longer cooking times. A trick for canned products is checking the indications of when they were harvested, for Italian products you have letters for the year of production, I bet there are similar ru

Again on butter: historically it was used in the north of Italy a lot, especially in the mountains, where oil wasn't available. My father didn't know what oil was when he was a boy. It was used in the center and south of Italy bef

This I knew as well and have used in the past. It's perfectly fine if you do calculations in only one direction, say from amounts to percentages. This algorithm guarantees you that the sum of percentages (in this case) is 1 regardless
