They fixed it in a later patch. But it wasn't exactly great support if a 100% mac crash bug, in a short beta playthrough, didn't get found/fixed before they pushed the version. I see where you're coming from but I've experienced stuff lik

The Mac support has always been great for Blizzard games and D3 is no exception. I've been playing the beta in a 2009 MBP for a couple of weeks now and everything looks pretty smooth. Unlike companies like EA, Blizzard spends real time maki

You'd be amazed at how much $240 a day is in developing countries. In some latin american countries $240 is the minimum wage for a month; earning $4800 per month is more than what a typical worker makes in an entire year. $30/hour would mak

I submitted an article I wrote 14 days ago ( http://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=3497512 ). As far as I know, none of my friends voted it and it got the the front page with 21 points. I'm not sure how long it stayed there but I received ar

I unlike you, took the pragmatic way (without quotes or Unix). Email is part of my life and I don't want it going down. I don't spend time configuring servers, updating packages, guaranteeing uptime. My email is federico@mheroin.com, and I

According to http://redbus2us.com/h1b-visa-2012-cap-count-updates-uscis/ , the quotas for the FY 2012 H1-B visas were met on Nov 13, so (if my understanding is correct), no more of these visas will be available until October. I just thoug

I agree with Kyle in the observation that this is not the main reason for the App Store to be successful, but I think it contributes a lot. I'm only speaking from experience though so maybe other people can chime in and give us their opinio

I'm convinced this has nothing to do with the actual costs of the product. They're charging $7 per month for 1 project/1 user and 5 days of storage. I don't think you can spin what they do in any way to arrive at this price. I'd love to hea

The difference between having to enter my CC every couple of years vs. every couple of days is huge. I'm guilty of a lot of quick, mindless expenses in the iTunes Store that I probably wouldn't have incurred in if I had to enter the CC ever

I'm not a Stripe employee (or associated with them in any way), but from what I've gathered from Patrick, they're using mostly Ruby for their stuff. They have several Lisp hackers but I don't think they're actually using it on their site.

Without knowing what you're good at I can't really give you specific answers, but here are some tips: * Most early stage startups don't have the money to hire and relocate an intern. * Most early stage startups are not interested in interns

1) No. You'll need a J-1 visa and that usually takes a bit of time. 2) You might want to look into Chile or Brazil, a lot of companies seem to be sprawling there. Be warned that you won't make the seem money you can make in the UK or most o

You'd need to have no non-block-scope way to use the resource for it to work. You can already do that, just `return unless block_given?`. In principle I don't see why you'd want to non block version anyway but maybe there's some use case
