Can you elaborate on the "new partners must invest capital" part? I've heard of this, notably in the TV show Suits where when the lead character got promoted to partner, he was asked to contribute a lump sum of cash. Sounded

Unpopular opinion: I like technical interviews. They at least enforce some form of a standard hiring bar. I feel this way because I've seen hiring for non-technical roles, e.g., project management, etc. They basically end up being fr

I presume there are legal safeguards, but what would prevent ByteDance from #yolo and turn the entire platform into an overt anti-Trump/Republican advertising network for the next 90 days? I mean, what's the gov't going to do

With no data backing this up, I feel like people would be happier with quotas. If Asians were told that at most X% of school Y could be Asian to save room for other ethnicities for social reasons, they could probably accept that better than

Is it just me, or has there barely been a peep from the CCP about TikTok? When it came to Huawei or ZTE, China's gov't regularly engaged foreign gov'ts, but it seems that they don't care much for TikTok. If that is the c

The problem I have with FB and to a lesser extent, IG is that you can't get away from politics. The issue with that is that in addition to data scraping, it opens users up to political manipulation (i.e., vote hacking). How is it on Ti

I think the main issue is that the Internet ( especially reddit, and to a lesser extent, HN) is just not a good place for nuanced discussion. China = totalitarian = bad. Any good results are either by luck or a lie. USA = democracy = good.
