I think most of the comments in this thread are probably about the lower support levels for GCP. I personally have never used enterprise support for GCP. For the lower support levels AWS is miles better than GCP. Not sure about the enterpri

Which Support level do you have with GCP? I haven’t used GCP support at work yet only as a hobbyist, sounds like maybe you had their enterprise support tier?

I love the GCP UI and the DX in general of their cloud offerings. I also love the feature set of Cloud Run, BigQuery, and DataFlow. My only problem with GCP is that their support is horrible, I much prefer AWS support that’s why I can’t use

Not really in the spirit of the post but I learned recently that you can also back your API Gateway apis in AWS with an s3 bucket: https://docs.aws.amazon.com/apigateway/latest/developerguide... Makes it super sim

It’s also really strange using python and node in an article about concurrency without mentioning the GIL (python) or node single threading.

I’ve wanted to ask this question but I don’t know who to ask. Can someone explain what the use case is for vector DBs like pinecone, milvus etc. vs a fully featured search engine like Vespa, ElasticSearch etc. which also support vector sear

That diet is good for weight loss it’s not good for overall health. Search on google scholar about “Whole food plant based diet” you will find many studies on this diet especially focusing on cardiovascular health improvements. A good start

Personally, I have been bitten by the opposite of this. Code duplicated in many areas that are very slightly different and then when you need to change some shared dependency you might forget to update the logic in all the places. The probl

I have run into the same issue when using it for coding. It can easily debug simple code but for libraries like Bazel I went down a rabbit hole for 2 hours of letting it debug an error and failing every time even with chain of thought it ha

This is probably a dumb question but what makes plastics or metals food grade? I ask because I want to know if DIYing kitchen gadgets like this is somehow unsafe or is it possible to build food grade gadgets yourself?

I agree with the overall idea, but we don’t need to limit the AI to human collaborators. I think the future lies in the Copilot approach of giving the Agent relevant context by building smarter prompt generation pipelines. The AI are really

This is an amazing post on building a cloud product. While I was reading I was thinking “how did they get around the IAM role limits with dedicated roles” and they even touched on how they used a cellular architecture. I wish there was a li

It sounds like this is providing a sandboxed wasm runtime as a service is that right? I think in this case the landing page is lacking in technical details to the point where it’s hard to understand what the product actually is. I like the

Is this approach not just Capistrano but using containers and specific to python? You could just use firecracker microVMs and ansistrano to implement this same workflow but get better isolation from firecracker.

I also use a python repl as an alternative to excel or SQL. I find myself just downloading the data as a CSV and then quickly cooking up some pandas to get a graph or aggregate some stats, it’s just so much quick easier imo.
