I don't know why people put any stock in this index, the methodology seems flawed. They say that Ada's rating is double that of TypeScript, surely that doesn't reflect reality in the slightest?

Not really like that, because never at any point 7B people on this rock were farmers.

You just kind of concatenate the entire codebase into one file, tell the model to do something and output the modified codebase into another file, diff the two and produce a patch automatically.

That difference in the snippet you mentioned has 100% to do with how Solid is compiling its JSX, and 0% to do with how signals must work. If you don't like what Solid is doing you may consider it a self-inflicted wound, nothing is forc

I mean if one's time is worth approximately $0/hour then I stand corrected and indeed Copilot is more expensive than chatGPT.

Copilot is useful because the cost to ask it something is effectively zero. If you have 2 lines of boilerplate code to write you aren't going to ask chatGPT to write it for you because just asking it costs more than solving the problem

By and large having no VDOM frees you from having to structure things in an unergonomic way, for performance or otherwise, whatever limitations Svelte and Solid have in this regard are self-inflicted. For example my framework allows you to

Things like Solid ( https://www.solidjs.com/ ) also have no virtual DOM, and the improvements are in higher ceiling for performance, lower memory usage, simpler DX (components are not re-executed, there aren't any depend

That's an interesting comparison because: - Svelte is actually strangely slow, I mean there's *one* interesting optimization that having a custom compiler/transform allows you do to for free, which is deep cloning nodes in on

At this point one of the main features I look for in a JS framework is whether its author values type checking like I do or not.

Ok, but then I don't understand the claim that it's faster than React while using React. I don't know of any more specific and good benchmarks for that.

Thanks for the link, interesting. I'd still recommend making a submission for js-framework-benchmark, otherwise it's kinda like preact signals, where the performance aspect of them is kind of a marketing aspect really, and they do

I'd like to see how it performs in js-framework-benchmark. That it's faster than emotion or styled-components don't really mean anything when comparing the frameworks themselves, and much faster css-in-js solutions can be wri

2x performance in what benchmark? React seems less than 2x slower than painfully optimized vanilla code in js-framework-benchmark, even considering the "swap rows" test, which is not that important but where React does terribly in

It's not possible to just switch to SWC, all the Babel plugins that you use would need to be rewritten for SWC also. As far as I know there's only one Svelte compiler and it's written in JS.

There are two types of fenced code blocks, and the one most people write, the one with backticks, basically can't be written in some languages because their keyboards like a backtick key.

I'm not sure if the DOM is that slow actually, compared to raw code that can output at any time manipulating the DOM only has produce an update within the next frame for an external observer to perceive it as as fast as possible basica

I love this idea. I just tried with a package.json of mine and 33% of the money seems to go to Microsoft/TypeScript, which seems odd for a bunch of reasons: they don't seem to have Github Sponsors setup, they don't seem to ha
