This would've been immensely helpful a few months ago when I was writing a private OCI registry, which included parsing the OCI image layout. The registry I wrote supports custom media types like OP discusses, but prefers OCI/Dock

Yep, it seems like most founders I've met feel this way -- at least at some point in their journey -- but nobody wants to talk about it because of it. I think this quote [0] from a similar post by Scott Hanselman really nails it: >

This is interesting, and I think I agree. I tend to view those who self-promote too often as either arrogant or compensating for lack of ability; but if you don't self-promote at all, e.g. in the 'good' way via marketing, I s

If you're really a solopreneur, stop caring about fads and start caring about profitability. You don't need to learn fancy new tools to earn money online -- you need to use boring tools and keep moving forward. Keep loose tabs on

Author here. I think it's a combination of things. Node came onto the scene, and the hype hasn't really let up yet. In addition, ZIRP made hiring cheap, and JS was ubiquitous -- bootcamps pushed it, marketing and trends pushed it.

Build a game or two on the side. I'm still not where I want to be i.r.t. math, but building a game in Unity, and another in Bevy, has helped me hit hard problems that have to be solved using math I don't know, which helps push me
