This is all accurate. The comment in this article is specifically about the top 10 AI companies, so the usual big tech stocks. I'm no expert, but I can understand how a stock gaining $277 billion in a single day can be concerning from

I don't see much difference in the current version, and the anonymized data that you can't opt out of seems mostly to do with crash reports. It's laid out in this article, and although I'd prefer a full off option, it&#x

In previous versions, the features that were disabled had to do mostly with disabling multiplayer coordination if you choose not to share precise location information, in other words, just the things that would need that data to function. M

Apparently people using old Oculus accounts are exempt. The strange thing here is the apparent lack of ability to opt out. It's pretty standard practice among data collection devices to at least have an option to turn it off, and since

It's actually much older, the 700 series from 2013 were the last to ship without signed firmware. 2013 also happened to be the year of the last AMD CPUs without the PSP, so my all-free software computer is still stuck in that year unti

The worlds themselves don't need to be generated on-device, just rendered there (even as a video stream.) The AIs that will build virtual worlds will live in datacenters and stream to headsets. Local AI will likely focus on predicting

I would just like to see people copy some of Apple's UI functionality inside Quest apps. The official YouTube app can do the standard flat panels that any Quest app can do, but it's limited to living inside the 1x3 app row that al

This looks beautiful. I think Alphabet just won a more premium app than they might have made by choosing not to play. I hope a Quest port might happen someday.

You do have to sideload, and that will turn off plenty of people, but probably not most of the people here. It's just a matter of following the instructions on the Sidequest website. For my use, just putting F-Droid on it gives me acce

I respect that point of view, but Meta has over 3 billion monthly active users. This is a large enough potential customer base for any product. I also find the privacy options on the Quest perfectly adequate, and I'm curious if there&#

This comment is so much more informative than the article. They made a medical UX that people actually wanted to use but oversold the AI. I wonder why nobody tried to merge the front-end with a different AI, or did that fail too?
