You weren't watching and consuming full length feature films on a Mac+. Neither was I. Context is one thing (i.e., mouse, keyboard, MacPaint) and I agree that two year olds adapt to context amazingly. Media is another thing entirely though.

What amazes me is how GOOD my son is on the iPad and iPhone. He turned 2 in June. He can unlock the phone, knows the passcode, can get into any app and knows the "flick" gesture. On his iPad, he can navigate to his Sesame Street episodes or

When their bonus is tied to the success of the company in social software, you'd expect them to use it. No? If Google is trying to make an identity play, shouldn't identity start at home?

My biggest take away from the apology: "But as it was midnight and I am not what you might call an experienced Google+ user, by the time I figured out how to actually post something I had somehow switched accounts." Uh, well Google: start t

I don't understand why there is no feature parity between the different platforms? I rely on the "lists" feature (both the AI generated and my own generated ones) for filtering the wall. The iPhone app implements it in a spotty fashion (hal

Lord. This is classic management by objectives incentivizing with checklist implementation. "Social is big, we'll be social!" People say that big companies are aircraft carriers: to big to be nimble, too big to stop. It doesn't have to be t

I'm sure that Facebook isn't ignorant to this. When two companies' enemies are aligned, allies they should be. Or something to that effect.

I wager "Finder" is gone by the next iteration of OSX. I think the file paradigm is on its last legs, and of all the things I wish, it is that Microsoft shored up their gumption to implement WinFS and the Cairo OOP file system work. The fac

I hate this admonishment of fanboy-ism that permeates the discussion anytime MG or Gruber are mentioned. We need fanaticism to counter balance apathy. There is nothing more empowering than a belief in what you do, why you do it, or who you

Probably for the same reason I stopped: it's not fun. Given I have a finite amount of time to socialize my identity online, the value proposition of a service has to extend into emotion rather than pure pragmatism. Fun and joy: maximize thi

I loved my Intergraph. I had a TDZ-2000 but for monitors I had a Sony GDM-F500 monitor, which was amazing and weighed a ton. For a bit I had SGI 1600 LCD, but it required a special video card which died. The Intergraph TDZ-2000 was a great
