It is possible to be sued for damages in Germany if you quit and don't come back to work during your notice period. Its not very likely and hard to prove damages by the employer, but possible. Nothing really stopping you from simply ha

I absolutely did not mean to imply that you did not want to improve the products. I did assume that you are missing the resources for the many products you develop. Its just very sad to show/recommend Kagi to people and then have them(

Kagi develops lots of features, but they seem to often be quarter-baked. Maps for example is basically unusable and has been for a while. (at least in Germany) Trying to search for an address often leads Kagi maps to go to a different rando

Most hardware projects I tend to look at dont need the power of a Pi5 and are fine with a 2040 or zero. The niche of the Pi5 just has gotten so much smaller, imo.

Im not a scientist and do not know how these things work out, but wouldn't it be possible for scientist to simply publish their papers online without peer review if that is what they want? What's stopping them from doing so?

There is OCPP (Open Charge Point Protocol). There's quite a bit of choice in supported wallboxes. Here is Europe at least.

I can do a lot myself. Or pay somebody less than a meal costs to do it for me and not have to worry about my emails.

I’ve been doing this with SimpleLogin for years. I’d expect anonaddy to be able to do the same.

I can think of two reasons: - Physically moving servers outside of the cages they are supposed to be in. (inside/outside DC) - Easier to dispose of disks (repair/EOL)

geizhals.de Very good website to compare gadgets/electronics and look for good prices. Its for the German market though (and some small amount of Austrian shops)

I just had a look and the comparison website I use says there are 113 motherboards that support 128GB or more memory for AM5. (in my local market. so the US probably has even more) 128GB isn't exactly a lot, so that would surprise me i

There’s three servers I know and like 10 clients. Not sure when you last looked at the landscape. Servers: Synapse, dendrite, conduit Clients: (just off the top of my head) Element, fluffychat, cinny, neochat, cyphon, nheko, schildichat

Here is the change (as reflected in the sidebery wiki): https://github.com/mbnuqw/sidebery/wiki/Firefox-Styles-Snipp... It was Firefox version 113 that changed it.

I remember it breaking exactly once. Last year they changed the syntax. But before that it was running fine for 3 or so.

In Germany this has already been litigated. The government lost that case as well back in 2021: https://www.bundesverfassungsgericht.de/SharedDocs/Pressemit...

Not sure what the point of this argument is. Are you saying that human rights cannot be violated if a democratic decision was made beforehand?

This is definitely not the case everywhere. Where I live the app is 100% needed because it’s the „second factor“ in the login process.

It kind of does, since the gatekeeper status is bound to how many users a platform has. I’d also like to mention that EU anti-trust law talks about „dominant position“ and not about monopolies. And any Company with more than 40% market shar

I read it here on Hacker News. I dont have any links of it at hand, there were way too many threads about the drama for me to go looking for it now. Cant answer your last question. As said, that was just the story that I heard here on HN.

Does hyper-v support usb passthrough by now? I looked into it two years ago or so and it just wasn’t possible, which is a dealbreaker in a homelab imo.

Ive been using Simplelogin for a few years, and its totally fine. Id just like it if Firefox Relay had these features.

Sure. But I just have multiple domains for things like that. And you could always have the option to use a Firefox Relay domain as well. Thats how it is with Simplelogin (which is a similar service).

It’s an ok way to do it. And I’ve been subscribed (but not using it) for 2 years. But until Firefox Relay supports custom domains, I am of the opinion that it’s not ideal.

For .eu yes. But I also mentioned .to and .ag for example where this is not the case. Both are ccTLDs that have no such requirements. There are others as well.

Yes, that is what I meant. That you need to be a citizen of the EU. Sorry if I wrote it in a way that was easily misunderstood. The point was that its not the case for all ccTLDs.

Hope you don’t mean Gandi. That went downhill even faster than namecheap. https://arstechnica.com/civis/threads/psa-gandi-net-bought-o...
