I love the workspace structure and the package versions policy. Definitely my favorite among the languages I used.

Why would you freeze it? I understand that even with the Go policy on versions it can happen that a change on some external package can cause problems, but that's unlikely to happen and as you have the packages as git repos you can jus

Whenever I start losing focus, I write down the tasks I'm handling at the moment and move them up and down trying to assess priority. I also do that when I stop working so I know where to pick up when I start again. I found out that mo

Go packages have no versions, if you make breaking changes you should make a new package so you don't need to specify a version in some metafile to stop the build process from breaking.

I didn't mean you can't be productive in functional languages. What I'm criticizing are the platforms and I don't see that as too much of a subjective matter. For me as a user Haskell(the platform) is inferior to, say,

IMO when it comes to productivity most of the time the platform, and by platform I mean documentation, build tools, package managers and such, are a big influence if not the biggest. From my experience with functional languages, they slack

I agree that all languages have it's warts and a good programmer should know about them. I think what makes both PHP and Javascript not so great is the fact that it is so easy to overlook deadly mistakes like using "==" inste

Why is it bad? it's definitely bad for Google but for french citizens I can't see how fomenting diversity in a market hurts.

It looks to me like they use bleeding edge solutions or develop their own when "standard" tech isn't doing the job well enough. And they start slow and use it in non-critical pieces of software first.

Humans have a drive, a raison d'etre, intelligence being only a mean to fulfill that drive. Thing is that drive is uncertain/subjective. Learning can't be an objective by itself, intelligence is just a tool, from that perspec

Same here. Some points: - Navigation feels weird. - The main call to action should be "Try Codewars" instead of "Join Codewars" so it'd feel like "no compromise just try it", also it'd be clearer tha

Is there any reason that concept is so rarely used in the web? Well, there's usually an undo functionality in desktop-like web apps but most CRUD lack that kind of feature.

I'd use Ventrilo, you have rooms and you can mute or change the volume of people separately, if you're admin you can drag people to rooms, there's no video in it tho.

You can provide both so I don't see that as a big problem. Also people usually have an email account to register on non-important possibly-spammy stuff. So they don't even need to bother about spam.
