Maintenance-only usually means deprecated. There are some areas in the software world where maintenance-only can last a long time and can be de facto LTS. The Kubernetes ecosystem is not one of them.

I agree that the keyboard doesn't have quite the same "snap" that it did when it was new, but I still honestly prefer it to the older MacBook keyboards. Whenever I type on one they feel so squishy in comparison.

I suppose. On the other hand if you type on every keyboard like it's an IBM Model M, any keyboard that isn't a high travel mechanical keyboard is going to be uncomfortable. I adjusted my typing style to fit the new MacBook keyboar
