My dream board would be a full Raspberry with an Arduino-like µC included on the same board, for easy I/O.

Given the current RAM and disk sizes, and how much we put trust on computers, every cell phone or computer should use ECC RAM and checksummed filesystems these days.

I do see a big difference but it is another expensive ecosystem to maintain, it is difficult to justify for a thing that can only take pictures and I have no hope of making a buck with to offset costs.

Only Macs sleep reasonably correctly, and even they have issues. In my Macbook Air, Wi-Fi is the first victim after "n" cycles so I need to reboot it.

Not sure how much xBase code still runs out there to be maintained or rewritten. Depends on your market. At least here, the businesses that still ran xBase were the ones unwilling or unable to pay decently for maintenance and/or migrat

What will happen is, the no-code generation will rediscover that Turing-complete machines are great, and code is the easiest form to express arbitrary algorithms. In time, they also discover no-code is not portable, you are tied more tightl

They overpromised and doubled down on scams. The core idea was good, read somewhere that some ex-Theranos people are working on more realistic/humble implementations of that same idea.

So x.org is abandoned, Wayland does not work/is not mature, Linux for desktop is dead? Adopting the upper-half of Android AOSP UI would be the escape hatch?

Yes. As piva00 said, the elite benefits from the status quo. I think it is something even deeper: people are deeply afraid of change. Another factor is the laziness of the bureaucracy. Public servants prefer to move paper around than being
