Not sure if this is always the solution, but yes, so many people take antidepressants and let the fundamental problems of their lives go unfixed. And being a pessimist is not a problem that should be medicated. The world needs us!!

I said it was like 4GLs. And perhaps the creator was ahead of her time? :)

COBOL was like so many 4GLs: easier for starters and vanilla tasks, but makes things increasingly difficult as you need to grow out.

Perhaps it depends on the environmental noise you are exposed. In nature, most noise is percussion-like, non-rational harmonics, so octaves don't make much sens. OTOH listening to electric motors and combustion engines since the day yo

Not at all, and I don't think right-wing people are bad; they just think the status quo is optimum, is a global maxima. For example, the 'vanilla' right in Brazil in XIX century managed to delay the end of slavery by 6 decade

Same in Brazil... I like two say there is no left and right, there are two right-wing parties, each one defending its slice of the status quo (left is pro-privileges of public servants here, which are already majority in top earners)

Sometimes there are positive unintended effects. Near my city, there are a number of small hydro plants and dams, built before a grand national syncrhonized system was ready. While the dams were built inside very preserved forests, so there

Exactly, this is a "big numbers" problem, that says nothing about individual experiences, and should never be used as argument against an individual, but you'd be hard pressed to find an activist that bothers to clarify that.

Brazil would have to neighbor all colors for this map to be true, including protestant Europe. For instance, Uruguay is in a place that seems correct (Uruguay was once a Brazilian province, BTW, and still has close ties).

When someone says a lens, or an optical system, resolves 2MP, it is 2MP @ 50% MTF (maximum contrast between adjacent pixels). 50% is the "good enough" of photography, but digital sensors and screens can be 100% MTF. Lenses can&#x2
