ToS;DR is great, although it's more focused on terms of service so if you're looking for privacy-only info, you'll have to cut through a bit of noise.

For a site trying to fight for privacy, don't you think it would be better to not use Google Analytics to track the people who visit your site?

Hi. A related project that takes a more human-powered approach is PrivacySpy ( https://privacyspy.org ). Would be neat to see how these tools intersect. PrivacySpy is open source, community run, and more about grading policies on

Hi there, PrivacySpy co-creator here. We were planning on doing a Show HN in a few days (I hope that's still possible, now that it's been posted on here), but it's exciting to see the project on HN regardless! Here is the &qu

A key element here is that the battery likely died _because_ there was no service. When the car's cellular unit is scanning for service, it uses significantly more power than usual—quickly draining the battery.

In the video, Rep. Riggleman doesn't find issue with Rust being international; he instead notes that one of the primary committers to _Libra Core_ (not Rust) is Nigerian. I had a similar response to yours when I read the top-level comm

I had a MBP in 2017, and then—unsurprisingly—the keyboard began to have issues. I didn't even bother asking Apple for a fix; I knew the new keyboard would have issues as well. Instead, I got myself a reliable upper-tier ThinkPad for 2&

For what it's worth, there is some degree of password protection: the OnionShare links include a slug that must be included in order for files to be shared. Quoting the article, > By default, OnionShare addresses look http:/&#

Good! By allowing individual municipalities to manage their own Internet infrastructure, we can help keep the Internet from becoming effectively owned by the likes of Comcast, AT&T, and Verizon.

While unlikely, I hope one day that the entire Windows operating system will be made open source — I'm not sure how Microsoft would make the revenue work out, but I bet it could be done. And the world would be better for it.

This makes sense. In revision 02, we will change the phrasing in section 1.2 to be something to the effect of "a list of public key fingerprints." Thanks to you both for bringing this up.

Thanks for bringing this up. I wonder how the naming conventions could be improved? 1.2 does mention that this is a list of public keys identified by fingerprints: > 1.2 The term "keylist" is defined as a list of OpenPGP public

Identity is established by the authority key. Let's say your workplace publishes a keylist that contains the PGP keys of all of your colleagues. Because each key on the keylist has been vetted by your organization to belong to its stat

Yes. In fact, we even recommend that the fingerprints of revoked keys stay on the keylist for at least a few months to ensure that the key revocation is sent to all subscribers. If you were to remove the key from the keylist, it wouldn'
