I think that you’re assuming that the hybrid in mind has plug in, otherwise you’re not really making the case for using gas to inevitably charge the battery (regenerative braking still requires having had some speed generated by gas). As fa

Obviously latency is important in synchronous use cases like video calls, however I wonder if a delay for slower one on one discussions would be all that jarring for users

Haha I’m in almost the exact same boat, I replaced a haswell i5 with a 5800x. I definitely went overkill with my system and still haven’t gotten a GPU upgrade yet due to cost/laziness.

This is apologist thinking at best, intentionally misleading at worst. You are correct that companies do have patient assistance programs. What you’re leaving out is that this applies to a small subset of people that usually have to be deni

I don’t have much to add to the discussion here. Sensitivity is poor, specificity is pretty good and could be better if used as a confirmatory test(?). What I found interesting in the comments is how many people involved in healthcare lurk

Another counter anecdote - I use eero routers and have it set to manual dns. Downtime lasts maybe ten minutes when things go wrong, it’s usually sufficient to restart the pc running pihole. My last downtime was maybe five months ago.

Forgive my ignorance, but I am wondering if this is all that different. GPCRs typically downstream towards ion channels, right? So even if insect physiology relies on ligand gated ion channels, is the end result the same, just more metabol

I have this conversation with my attendings regularly regarding scaling back treatment. Everyone has their own comfort level with how aggressive they are doing that, and it would be interesting to see better heuristics that would allow for

In school, I once had a patient with this syndrome who was admitted for his anaphylactic reaction - pretty wild. Tick borne diseases in general are fairly fascinating. We joke about which antibiotic we would like to have if stuck on an isla

This is one of those things that feels relative, in that we keep pushing the age of "good health" further and further as we, well, get healthier. What's if when you're 90 and healthy that you say, "it'd be nice

We don’t routinely test for strep, neither do we routinely order blood cultures. Without seeing the entire picture, it’s hard to otherwise comment on the care this patient received.

But the description of rash around Anus was kind of odd, unless the child specifically asked their parents to look. Buttcheeks obscure that area so the other scenarios don’t make sense.

The price transparency rule was kind of useless already in the setting of most people being insured, it doesn’t really tell people how much they are going to end up paying. I want to start a site that lets people submit their explanation of

Doesn’t even feel like some of these were necessarily ahead of their time, almost like investors didn’t take as many risks as they do now with burn rate etc. of course, the dot com bubble burst in a bad way, so perhaps this theory isn’t ver

For those eventually reading the above comment at some point - I honestly forgot that the accelerated approval process exists, and that’s how this got approved. That basically means they get to say their drug was shown to affect surrogate m

I’m finding it really hard to understand how this met approval to ‘give patients an option’ when the government just recently passed laws to expand access for unapproved drugs. We even have expanded access programs that have been possible f

This probably isn't very helpful, but I'd imagine underestimating the PD is going to lead to happier patients even if not all that accurate. We can accommodate with crossing our eyes, but the opposite is not usually true.

What the other commenter said, displaylink works, but it’s not ideal and adds additional overhead like using up precious usb bandwidth for my work. I have learned to live with only two displays, plus an iPad for airplay. I’d wait for the ne
