The high price is probably just reality. Samsung's display assemblies have always been expensive. I've seen the real inventory values back in the Note 6 era, and the component cost at repair time. Repair services were probably get

Samsung had existing repair partnerships. Many were run by other Koreans, and very much had the feeling of a big family run conglomerate. Of course iFixit is going to get the short end of the stick unless they're providing real value t

Section 230 was a response to a lawsuit that happened in 1995. It was passed in 1996. You're talking about a legal state that hardly existed for a year, but dismiss things as fine 'before'. Seems a bit of a crude dismissal.

I wish these sort of things expired. So many devices are guaranteed e-waste these days. Device lifetimes are exceedingly short. Since you're going to keep the servers running anyway, just let any 10+ or 15+ year old device that phones

They seem to be ESP32 based wifi modems talking to 8-bit machines over a variety of interfaces. I don't think exploits compromising the 8-bit machines are a serious concern or even likely. Presumably the question was just being playful

Deleting is easy to restore. There have been cases where reddit restored deleted posts. Edits are a bit harder to filter for so they probably won't bother.

I have a ST486-DX2-66GS (1998), and I found it is unstable at the stock 66MHz. I actually have to run it at 80MHz to prevent random freezes.

If you want cheap, but non-performant, there are AMD R-series like found in Dell/Wyse thin clients. They're pretty weak machines though 2-4 cores, but support ECC DDR3 single channel.

You have to wonder if this could all be tied back to Russia. They obviously stand to gain a lot if foreign powers are distracted. So far it's proving quite the boon to have the US interests split between Ukraine and Israel. I haven

You're not making sense. Exercising control over other people is a very high price to pay for implementing someone else's idea. It has to happen at times, sure, but the onus is on the group outcome outweighing the individual prefe
