Two reasons: First, the "confession" -- whosever they are trying to elicit -- has more value if given out of paranoia. Think about it this way: you have a brief glimpse into something wrong that happened, but you don't know the full story.

Would you mind sharing the strategy you took to storing the sites offline? I assume you grepped through the HTML source for external references (stylesheet, image, etc), downloaded each one of those, and then re-wrote the link before saving

This was particularly strong wording on China's part. Anyone want to bet what actions follow up the words? I don't believe that China doesn't care about Google leaving. I think, despite the party line, they are reluctant to ban access to Go

It's the trick luxury brands have been playing for years. Walk into a Tiffany's store and you see the same silver that was poured to make the jewelry at the department store, but the blue box costs you a 2000% premium. I've always wanted to

I hacked together a quick script to generate new HN story titles from your list of existing ones. It is a pretty shoddy job -- no syntax-level modeling -- but some of the ones it generated are still pretty amusing: mark cuban: how to say fa

From what the video doesn't show, it appears that Flyfire is not actually a new display technology, it is just a neat "what if" idea that they turned into a concept video. The majority of the ML's output is a mix of creative dreams and pr
