I think this situation is described best as being "above" the law.

Yes, and my understanding is that this is precisely the point.

I completely agree with a lot of your points; the whole thing is quite stupid. My only objection is that the infrastructure will probably not go unused. And if we are lucky, those uses will be better than helping teenagers cheat themselves

Because they are selling the idea of hiring only interns and still getting things done. If an intern using their product screws up the production, its a failure of their product as it is marketed.

I am pretty optimistic that as long as hardware capacity exists, people will find ways of using it. Whether it will be profitable or not is another story of course.

There are quite a few assumptions in your message. But here is, I think, the most crucial one: > but since the EV is so high for first mover advantage for AGI is it? why? I cant see why this should be the case. where exactly do you think

Agreed, and I suspect the explanation is that these plays are done not to search for a true AGI, but to drive up hype (and 'the line').

I think an even more important question is this: "do we trust Sam Altman (and other people of his ilk) enough to give the same level of personal knowledge I give to my therapist?". E.g. if you ever give a hint about not feeling co

Last time I got a job offer the hiring process took ~4 months with seven steps, and I had to answer within 3 days. I do not get how is anyone realistically supposed to coincide the multiple offers they get. Unless you are already in an extr

I agree with you three scenarios. But I would assign different probabilities. I think the second option is the most likely. Things will get shittier and cheaper. Third option might not ever come to pass. Just like clothing and textile work.

It is not a binary choice between these two. If you have ADHD, and you need to work for a living; in time, you come up with personal strategies. I found that I am able to focus on things better when I am under a lot of stress or pressure. S

I get that having empathy with yourself and not hating yourself in case you have to face consequences of having ADHD is very important and good. But I would argue that not fearing the said consequences is a very different thing; and likely

As an employee with ADHD, I found this rather unhelpful. Some of us do have to work for a living, and getting fired can have very serious consequences on our lives. For a lot of us, avoiding (or increasing the likelihood of avoiding) being

Same. Also the prices are quite steep. 470 euros for the console and games cost 90 euros now? That feels quite unreasonable.

>So I'm genuinely intrigued: what could be the underlying cause(s) of that feeling of hopelessness? As another commenter pointed out, the teenagers are already well aware of the world around them. But for the kids, the point stands.

Again, the "AI" doesn't care about the website. It doesn't even link to it in vast majority of the cases. Even if it did, the "AI" derives a lot of its business value from the fact that it is providing what the

The owners don't even care about copyright and their deep-pocketed owners. They will certainly not care about playing nice with random websites, or any conventions that may exist in any domain.

I would assume at least some of the difference comes from the autobahn conditions. Also, from what I have been able to observe, EVs are absurdly underrepresented in the autobahns.
