Reply to the sibling comment comparing to insurance of MS SWE. While the absolute values are comparable, $1500 is quite a bit more of an inconvenience at a warehouser worker pay level than at a SWE salary level. Given the physical nature o

If privacy is a core focus of your pitch, there should be a document with specifics about your promises around privacy, etc. There's nothing stating who you are and why I should trust you with my data. If you really want to sell me

I'd love to hear insider stories about how misaligned fundraising department metrics can end up being for the university. Regarding donating buildings in general, Andrew Carnegie seemed to get a lot of prestige leverage when he funded

The 12V/5A power supply seems a little undersized for 4 x 3.5 HDD startup. I suspect that it's fine if the drives are started sequentially but the drives will probably want to pull more than 5A if they're all starting simult

You could have the fines be "heavily" pulled out of compensation packages for the higher ups who actually have the power to change the organization... but then they'd probably just leave and screw up some other place? Do boar

I believe the Google X building in Mountain View on San Antonio used to be the Mayfield Mall. They did a nice job renovating it for their purposes but you still feel like you're at a mall when you go through the building.

I'd suggest explicitly keeping those apps off the second monitor. I like keeping reference documentation and running notes there.

I don't think the cork board analogy really works here. This sounds like a person (ab)used their position and access to the backend of a security tool (Chrome extension or not) to broadcast a non-security related message. I think we c

This doesn't mix well with the ad-based compensation model. Sadly, there still doesn't seem to be much in the way of micropayment infrastructure.

Based on my experience (not a lawyer) this depends very much on what company and (in the US) what state you are in. Google had a very broadly scoped right to your work in the paperwork signed when you got on board. Barring those agreement

I have the same complaint. Perhaps a hidden, floating, spandex style layer that encapsulates the pocket and contents against the leg would solve that issue? This could be done while minimizing impact to the outer appearance.
