Why would the lifetime of the data be at all relevant? Most noDB (a term I don't like much) stores are built to be highly durable. There are a lot of questions that make the choice of data store a difficult one, but I'm not sure that plays

Here in Denver they're pretty good. There is a bad spot in Downtown (that I used to live in), but other than that one block... it was great. I was about to switch back (I had moved to Verizon for other reasons) until they announced the merg

The culture will change... it'll be slow and people won't notice it while it's happening. Then one day, you look back and go "man this is different." It can change for the better... or it can change for the worse. There is no question that

It wouldn't surprise me at all to see them spin Motorola right back out into a separate entity. It would actually make a lot of sense. Google gets their patents and a very cooperative manufacturer, without the worry of managing Motorola day

2) I don't understand. Just the threat of Google launching that missile at Apple and friends has to severely curtail patent litigation. If Apple knows that Google will soon have the ability to deliver a haymaker of their own, they are MUCH

How is Google leading that charge exactly? From what I can tell they've been drug kicking and screaming into this mess. It simply says that they have to come up with a way to defend against the patent mess that the Apple consortium has thre

That's the point of the game isn't it? To determine if people will irrationally pay to punish a cheater for the sake of revenge? At least that's what I got from the article.

When does it cross a line? A certain IOS developer has made money hand over first 100% copying Ragdoll Cannon ( http://www.kongregate.com/games/Johnny_K/ragdoll-cannon-rema... ) into a game that was so popular, it spawned a sequel. Is that

Speculating here, but I don't think Google wanted Groupon as an immediate profit center. They wanted their considerable mindshare and ready-made sales and marketing team. I'm guessing that they felt they could merge Googles ability to optim

I'd argue Facebook has been pretty successful with their API. It certainly sped up adoption thanks to integrated apps like Farmville. It seems to me that the an API strategy can be very effective in making something already popular really t
