I learned to drive a car when I was 13. My older cousin took me to warped tour, got hammered and told me I had to drive home. I didn’t know what a clutch was, let alone a stick shift. After stalling in the parking lot a couple of times, I m

Fake though the example may be, I wouldn’t underestimate its ability to stumble upon something useful if you could garner enough traffic. - you would probably only need a handful of ports - it really only takes one person pasting that AWS k

I think Microsoft is taking leaps and bounds to make up for the errors of yore. I wouldn't underestimate them at this point.

I've showed my wife the patent, but it usually leads to me sleeping on the couch. not worth beleaguering the point.

most of the page is server rendered. The hairy bits (eg. complex forms, super interactive components) are react and they maintain their own state. There might be downsides but they're probably not worse than writing a bunch of jQuery.

I'm still struggling to understand why my small react app which has 7 dependencies (4 of which are react, react-dom, react-router, react-router-dom) needs 615 node modules.

I strongly support this sentiment. I’ve recently come to the conclusion (after building a non-trivial react app from scratch) that the optimal use case is in a rails/django/go/whatever app that only uses react to handle front

While there’s some truth to this, 3 years down the road when the codebase is a spaghetti nightmare, all the original authors have moved onto other companies and the impending refactor is looming, management starts to wonder: was it really w

This sounds like some erotic sci-fi come true. "In a world swept by a pandemic leaving billions unstimulated, teledildonics kept us together."

Really curious how well the salesforce integration works. Heroku has a product that does this (Heroku Connect), but it doesn't work well with large tables and you have to pay them an obscene amount of money to even properly test it (wh

I would strongly advocate that Aurora RDS be added here. Easy to manage, SQL data storage. Not cheap, but cheaper than a DBA for sure.
