It's kinda useful for testing private functions and accessing private variables during testing. However using something like the `GOOGLE_FRIEND_TEST` marcro in Google Test is probably a better way to get around private functions/m

I would say that roughly 25% of the documentation applies to ancient modes of operation like real mode and protected mode. Unless you REALLY need to know the fine details of these modes you can skip right to the long mode stuff.

GC time is proportional to the number of objects tracked by the GC not the size of the heap, although they do tend to be related. Without knowledge of how many objects are being tracked this is a useless metric.

Not at "low speeds" but at line rate it requires a lot more CPU power to process all of those packets which often leads to drops. These drops specifically are called RX ring/fifo overflows/overruns and happen when the NI

Use splice to move items to the front of the list without copying in the find method.

To swap nodes in the list you need to use splice like this: keys_.splice(keys_.begin(), keys_, iter->second); Where iter is from the cache lookup.

You could have used std::list iterators instead of raw pointers to a node in the map to implement that.

Not really sure why they reimplemented std::list. Also that NoCopy base class adds a vptr for no reason. And so do all those other virtual destructors. I personally wouldn't trust this code at first glance.
