This is just vim with NerdTree, YouCompleteMe, and a few other plugin, presumably with some extra configuration to make the integration better. It lacks refactoring tools which I think are crucial for an IDE to have otherwise it's just

Because in order to drive the electro magnets you need a large amount of current. This causes a large amount of heat waste due to resistance which is essentially lost energy. If you have superconductors there is no waste heat making MagLev

Not really though, last year they had Randy play Lorde for the whole season. And they've been doing 2-3 episode stories for a while. Even in this season the Yelp episode was off topic from the main plot.

Not really sure why South Park is getting so much praise these days. Very little has changed from the previous seasons in terms of its outrageousness and the things it satirizes. I think the creators are just doing what they usually do whic

Relaxed is useful when you need atomicity but not consistency between cores. x86 guarantees that all reads/writes are atomic, i.e. no torn reads/writes but I don't think all architectures have this guarantee. Also there maybe

Really wish projects like this and YCM would stop including most of Boost and provide an option to use the installed system version instead.

I would agree with the statement that Go was intended to be used in situations where C++ was not necessary but I think Java or C# would have easily sufficed for these problems. The problem is that both Java and C# are controlled by Google&#

I just wanted to point out that Go was trying to be a C++ replacement. Most people tend to forget this. While apple and oranges is an appropriate metaphor for the approach that the two languages take, Go and Rust are vastly different, their

Go was originally designed as C++ replacement to be used at Google but its lack important C++ features lead to little interest from C++ programmers. Pike found much more interest from Ruby/Python programmers. http://commandc

Actually 2012 was when GPU training was just taking off. A team from the University of Toronto entered one of the larger competitions and won by a large margin by using GPU training. They used 2 GTX 580 over the course of 6 days to train th

One reason would be that power uses 8 way smt while Intel (with hyper threading) uses 2 way smt. If your code has tons of cache misses you will gain greatly from 8way smt since another thread can run on the physical core while other threads

One thing that I've yet to see mentioned is inlining. Almost all the functions/lambdas passed to STL functions in the code are likely inlined. This gives a huge performance boost and is one of the few cases where C++ is often fast
