> Maybe if the mechanically-cranked power system were separate from the laptop body it could have worked better? That makes a lot of sense but perhaps that would have been much more expensive than including a COTS power adapter.

Entanglement isn't like how it's described in the post at all. Entangled particles are correlated across spacetime in a way that goes beyond "instantly knowing there is red in one envelope when blue is in the other". Fir

Might want to add "CE" to the title. This link is for the community edition which is different than the original created by Brian Walker.

One can think of compression as an attempt to increase entropy in representing the data. The less predictable the data is, the more entropy it has. Compression exploits patterns in the data to increase its entropy. So technically we shouldn

I would say, yes. There are heated discussions about tests but in my opinion tests are crucial for maintainability of code in an automated fashion. Can you do without them, probably yes if the repo is small enough and most devs know most of

It's hard to estimate any task one has never done before regardless of how small the steps are. In fact, it's hard to break down such tasks.

As long as there are 2+ people involved, it doesn't seem possible to stay away from some kind of politics. How you deal with problems depends on how bad it is. If it's really bad, you'll probably have no choice but leave. Wit

I think this is a very critical gap and without filling it properly, we won't be able to go beyond startups that mostly rehash the same old ideas (which also provides value but limited in potential) It's not a complete alignment a

Kotlin is great but it'll probably be harder to hire/onboard devs going forward. IntelliJ is a huge productivity booster that helps with verbosity and the null issue. Btw Java 9 introduced jshell which is an interactive REPL.

I agree with you too. Jason and DHH draw a lot of attention, especially DHH, and some of it is not favorable. This incident just gave fodder to those who already had a pet peeve with them.

OP didn't provide any context so it's hard to answer. Is it for a personal project? Is it for a startup? For example, Clojure is a very expressive and fun programming language but I would never build a startup on that as it would

I don't know how it works in South Korea but in the US, appraisals don't require having to sell the building. Similarly, for insurance purposes, they need to determine a value without having to sell the building.
