Writing just tests is not ideal, but writing tests in general can be very challenging and interesting given that you need to understand what the code under test does and figure out (edge)cases to exercise/break it.

I once worked at a company that paid bonuses based on a portion of profits, appropriately named "profit sharing". As long as the company turned a profit in a quarter everyone got extra money. Company financials were shared with ev

Isn't it easy enough to protect small businesses by putting a revenue threshold in these changes? While they are at it, how about also regulating "cash at hand" (like make it such that a corp can't hold more cash than a

justinclift is right. The goal is to try to escape from a circle which is still a circle in 3D space. A 2D being may not be aware of the third dimension and might think it's impossible to escape it. Yet it is possible if they find a wa

What is impossible in 2D (e.g. escaping from inside a circle) is possible and trivial in 3D. Is moving faster than speed of light a limitation that can be overcome in a higher dimension? Does it really require a lot of energy or is that onl

Outrage is helpful only if one is willing and able to do something about the problems, either in one's personal life or globally. If not, it doesn't go beyond being harmful to one's own health.

Google's zero-click answers are really good, especially if I search for a fact. While it's true that this is possibly killing sites by preventing traffic flow, it's one way to battle content padding for the sake of grabbing t

Unfortunately, for a "light-weight" text editor, VS Code is very power hungry, especially if you have more than a few plugins. Yes IDEA is not much better but you get far more for your watts.

There is a lot of subjectivity to what brains see. I don't blame Amazon for changing the logo if lots of people complained, but I'd be concerned that so many people made that connection.
