I travel around the US working from different states/cities. The difference in behavior is astounding between the big and small cities. I have the absolute best experiences in small to mid sized towns, and in big cities everyone on the

You can also sneak in free will via those effects. The narrative of a purely mechanical deterministic world has fallen apart probably more than is recognized.

I’ve done this at times and it always wound up putting me out of phase with normal hours. That quickly causes all sorts of scheduling catastrophes. I have however found that being a bit short on sleep one night and making it up another work

It’s like drug or alcohol addiction. People can become somewhat “born again” usually after some kind of catastrophe and/or “rock bottom” moment. Parents allowing this from their adult children are akin to addict enablers.

Yea it’s really frustrating how everyone just assumes you are doing something basic wrong, as if you haven’t spent years on all the low hanging fruit. My body/brain simply will not allow me to sleep longer than 6.5 hours and that is of

I quickly forgot Notepad++ existed after starting to use VScode. This just reminded me to uninstall it. I’m very much against censorship but I’m far more annoyed by “everything is politics”

I don’t think they put on more weight than people in a relationship they don’t enjoy. So the enjoyment factor seems irrelevant at best.

Being fit serves many goals other than attracting a mate. I wouldn’t personally even put it in the top 3, although admittedly most people probably would.

See if you can transfer the addiction to a fitness game? Suddenly the addiction becomes a virtue and is strengthened by the endorphin highs.

I’ve noticed society also tends to be surprisingly supportive of people who were once drug addicts, even in spite of any crimes they committed during that time. It’s recognized the effort it takes to change and sometimes evens seems to be p

It sucks wanting a home right now. Holding off will raise your own property value but if you’re looking for an upgrade, it raises your future property value even more for a net loss. But if you try to rush in now, the supply is abysmal leav

Most of the supposed features of crypto, and Bitcoin in particular, become impractical once the government starts to become motivated to stop it. It’s largely all one big utopian wishful thought.

I’m afraid this would just further incentivize mining in countries who don’t have such taxes. Further centralizing Bitcoin and shifting the energy production to places who are even worse environmental abusers.
