I don't think that translates to humans. Sleep disturbances like the micro-arousals triggered by sleep apnea absolutely ruin lives, way before lack od oxygen becomes a problem. Arousals destroy sleep architecture. Humans cannot thrive

Your statement is factually incorrect, there are quite a few EU tech giants. But more to the point: in what universe is having a tech giant a requirement for anything? If anything, big pseudo-monopolies seem like an antipattern.

I grew up in a small village in the arse end of nowhere, in the 80s/90s. Even there and then it was a rarity for people to engage with their neighbours, beyond saying hello. Being the precocious child that I was, I invited myself to th

Is the blood level diagnostically significant with vit D? Or is this something like magnesium where serum levels can be normal while having a magnesium shortage? IIRC vit d is fat soluble, does the body store any excess quickly, or does it

I see people in Vibrams and Vivos at the gym all the time. I wear nothing but minimalist shoes (since long before the hype, I was the barefoot kid where I grew up in the 80s/90s), so maybe I just notice it more? Quite frequently people

It won't. Because the LLM execution is fundamentally nondeterminstic. The patient will describe something that is irrelevant to the diagnosis (because the patient does not know what is relevant), the LLM will latch on to that, and your

I am often baffled by how some people are able to articulate how a specific pain feels or even where exactly the pain is. Describing pain intensity is hard beyond "not very painful" and "very painful". But adding a dimen

I find that hard to believe. There have been incompetent US presidents before. This isn't incompetence, this is strategy. Malicious strategy perhaps, but it seems very unlikely to be non-deliberate.

I'm not sure what this word salad is trying to say. I've read it several times now, and I still don't get it. Your reference to "proper societies" and "broken skulls" is a bit worrysome.

What do you mean when you say that Reddit is too mainstream for you? I mostly read RSS feeds and hang out on Mastodon. I don't really chat anywhere anymore, not since I left the last IRC channel years ago. I occasionally miss it, but h

I think the confusion might arise from the definition of "long". People who are stable can spend many hours waiting in an ER. This is a long time. Patients with urgent but not life threatening issues will be seen quickly and disch
