Being natural does not make it safe. It is however a common food additive, and we’re talking very small quantities here. It’s really not the “toxic chemicals” as claimed by the OP.

Strangely it works this way though. It doesn’t make sense. In my current job I refused company equipment, and insisted on using my own. I pay for my own software too. Safer that way.

I’m doing one right now. Using Rust, Diesel(Orm), Postgres, compiled jinja2 templates (Askama), and a smattering of JavaScript with AlpineJS, and Tailwind. I have 100 loc JavaScript that makes it easy to replace only parts of the page via A

I think you missed my point. The fact that these people have the audience that they have is because people want to see their content. Whether or not they monetize that via advertising or not it’s largely irrelevant to that value proposition

They should have to pay interest on seized funds. Like fed rate +5%. Then it will only happen in serious cases and they will resolve it quickly.

I'm in the top x% of my profession, after 20 years of grinding. I'm unafraid. I don't see my salary taking a cut anytime soon. When I was searching for a job back in March, I had a 50% offer to response rate (if the company r

Sulfur dioxide is naturally occurring, released by volcanoes in massive amounts. In these kinds of qualities it’s pretty safe by comparison. I think we’re being way too cautious when it comes to geoengineering, at a time when we should be a

If that were true, influences wouldn’t exist. Clearly they can make money because they add value for people. If that value is actually improving people’s lives it’s another matter, but from an economics standpoint it seems to exist.

I believe those are called barriers to entry to protect vested interests. Also known as pulling the ladder up behind you. Why that works in the US is beyond me. I recall a recent study from one of the Ivy leagues that shows that historicall

If a company has your livelihood, bank balance, etc by the balls - they should at least be required to offer a minimum level of human support with a path for escalating things or a way to reasonably handle disputes with a neutral adjudicato

I think you’re right here and it’s the same reason I see AI as a tool in the software profession. You can use it to speed up your work, but you have to have someone fully trained who can tell the difference between looks good but is wrong,

The plan was to release 10 to 500 grams of sulfur dioxide. I don’t think it would affect anything at all. The experiment seems of questionable value, but it doesn’t seem dangerous.

That reminds me of the epilogue to HG Wells Time Traveler: “ He, I know—for the question had been discussed among us long before the Time Machine was made—thought but cheerlessly of the Advancement of Mankind, and saw in the growing pile of
