Seriously though. I toured a startup nearby me and they literally had a massage therapist, barber, therapist, barista, and numerous other service workers employed and working at least 9-5 every day serving the ~50 employees, 30 of which wer

This is a really good question and a really good point. There used to be a list of companies that "use" Node in some capacity, which appears to be removed: https://github.com/nodejs/node-v0.x-archive/wiki

The demo on the homepage looks and seems nothing like a demo. I had no clue I could edit the content until i read this comment and started clicking around. Also, the interactive playground DOES make it seem like it is trying to be a code ed

I've been thinking that for a while, but also how come it's never me? I've had accounts with several hacked systems and sure I try to have pretty strong passwords but... I appear to be safe every time. Famous last words maybe

Does google drive work the same way as Dropbox? Cross platform, acts as a folder in your home dir, selective sync, etc? Seriously ready to move on from Dropbox and my google fiber account comes with a free terabyte of google drive.

I'd disagree with your statement that "the van isn't a big deal" in your last sentence. If you feel that you have to be upfront with everyone about living in a van, it sort of becomes an enormous part of your identity, w

This is absolutely false. I live in Utah where we regularly get snow measuring feet deep. Driving up the canyon to go skiing, or doing anything in the state during winter or in all the wilderness, it is required by law to have 4WD. All over

There's a hell of a lot that we don't know about the universe. What if there can be life within the restrictions you suggest? Or even more likely, what if there is something lifelike that doesn't constitute as life? Lots of q

I love all the parentheses (including nested parentheses!) in that introduction post from Linus, and how he's careful to make it clear that it's just a hobby and not professional.

Stallman isn't a group of people though, he's one very very extreme case that frankly doesn't matter in the big picture of web accessibility and it probably isn't going to hurt anyone if he can't see every bit of yo

You don't think having been programming for the web since the web came into existence is not valuable experience to being a web programmer? That is absurd. That kind of bullshit talk is why ageism exists and what perpetuates it.
