Yup you totally can! I've done this before + it works well. You may have to customise the DHT a bunch though

It's no different to most other social networks that commit mass abuse of user data and track everyone, everywhere. Being a US-based company doesn't make this any better, just look at Facebook. The only people who worry are people

I've been using my own Planck* for a while now, and I absolutely love it! It's actually my second - I've pretty much exclusively used Plancks for almost 5 years. Strongly recommend giving them a go, even though the layers wil

I always feel weird about comments like this. Instead of discussing the merits of the actual project shared, we're going on a rant about whether or not ORMs are a good idea? It's like whenever someone shares something they made wi

I guess I got lucky then! I've had one of these for quite a long time, maybe since 2013/14. A good number of those years it's been running 24/7, and I actually only recently replaced it

Thank you! Yup, that's basically why I made it! > More details on how the encryption for server sync works would be helpful for assessing security. Good point - I'll add something more detailed to the README shortly For now tho

I’m a fan of Kipp! Not p2p, but has optional encryption https://kipp.6f.io/

Hopefully this works well! Honestly the multi-device support is a big barrier to my adoption of Signal. Currently I use Telegram across several devices, and the messages just "sync" near instantly. With Signal you see them appear

Hey HN! I wanted to learn about training + deploying ML models, so I built this! It uses YOLOv4 to find license plates, and then opencv to blur them :) Happy to answer questions!

I suspect a large part of this is due to the fact that those with wealthy parents are more likely to have a) family money to fall back on if things go wrong and b) family investment in the early days Everyone else has to seriously consider

Yup, the former works! Took me a while to find it haha. The hold + three dots thing isn't there on iOS sadly. Even something like Instagram's message requests would be a welcome addition!

I'm really enjoying my Razer Blade Stealth! Powerful, has a nice feel to it. I was looking for something similar to my old Macbook Pro, but without buying a Macbook - this was the closest I could find. Runs Linux really nicely + as far

The issue here is that paper tests require the user to read and properly understand instructions. Teenagers in a panic can and will misread and misunderstand, as people often do when under duress. It may seem "pointless", but maki
