Indirection kills performance nowadays. I did a bunch of benchmarking a couple years back and found that you can parse MessagePack and CBOR faster than Protobuf if you know the types and serialize directly into them. Even if field order isn

This is great to see! I happen to be traveling in Wales when I saw this headline. I was listening to Welsh radio on the drive in for a bit just cause it's fascinating. It's a unique sounding language.

A bit ironic in my mind that people enjoying living in a city infamous for gaining much of its historical wealth and art by betraying the Byzantines and sacking Constantinople under the guise of helping it [1] are now complaining about ultr

That’s the point of my comment. Israel and several other nations like Syria, Lebanon, Yemen, etc have all been undergoing attacks by Iranian funded proxies for decades.

Even if you believe Israelis don’t have a right to the land, it’s still not a colonial outpost. That’s just lazy European and American self important intellectualizing in my opinion. First a colony is one controlled by a foreign nation. Nex

I recommend perusing the code. Since it’s in Nim it’s pretty approachable (and performant). There’s still lots of gnarly bits like implementing HTML DOM and web specs, but it doesn’t take you days to grasp the basic setup.

You might try out Nim. It has a low annotation noise level. The python like syntax feels odd for a systems language at first but since it’s statically typed it works well. The simpler syntax seems to work very well with LLMs too. Basically
