I think the point of this article escapes anyone who doesn't know Haskell or a language with a similar type system. I don't want this to sound elitist, because it's not my goal, so I will clarify. In most languages, the abstr

And I think rapsey is referring to the fact that a compiler with a more powerful type system allows you to encode more logic in your types. This, in turn, means it will catch more errors at compile time at the cost of longer compile times.

Thank you for the input. I guess I was looking for the qualities that would apply to all those areas you mentioned. In the same way that systems theory is an abstraction that hovers above many different areas of human knowledge. However, I

I don't know if coding makes you smart, but the causal relationship might go the other way: you're more likely to be good at coding, the smarter you are.

Still, what's your motivation for wanting to grow more? Money can be a legitimate motivation, but you said that's not it. I guess I'm curious what drives you now.

It matters for engineers reading the article. It doesn't matter for the business. What they delivered was good enough. Could they have delivered a better solutions? Yes. Should they have searched for a better solution instead of implem

From your job Senior Backend Engineer job description it sounds like remote is US-only. Can you confirm this?

Is remote US only? That's what I can tell from your jobs page.

The Senior Software Developer position doesn't specify remote. Is remote available for that position?

The article also mentions that CBT does little for this kind of trauma. There are more effective treatments. They're listed towards the end.

Elm doesn't allow you to call JavaScript code in Elm anymore. The reasoning is to prevent runtime exceptions. Instead, you have to go through something called ports, which is like passing JSON around. That's why there are people w

There's always a possibility of that happening, but you shouldn't let it at the forefront of your mind. Unless if it makes you appreciate every day more.
