It's hard to tell. Haskell could make a big impact on the technology of the future. Or not.

Python is considered strongly typed, but usually it's placed in opposition with PHP or JavaScript. That's why I don't understand why the previous poster used strongly typed. The conversation was about static and dynamic progr

Standard Chartered, Mercury, Tsuru Capital (Haskell), Jane Street (OCaml) don't seem to have a problem with using a statically typed language in the financial space.

I was daydreaming a lot as a kid about all sorts of fantastic stuff. At some point I stopped. I wonder what else was gone with that daydreaming, because it feels like a thing you want to be doing, something that works your imagination.

I was only agreeing with the parent that students need to pushed out of their comfort zone, but just a little. Not a lot like the Jewish Problems were doing.

That's one of the principles of deliberate practice: go just beyond the comfort zone, in the area where you feel a challenge, but an approachable one.

They all sound plausible and likely. There are people obfuscating knowledge for all the reasons you mentioned. At the same time, it doesn't mean there's a concerted effort to obfuscate mathematics. Explaining things is hard, becau

What kind of friction do you encounter when using Roam? I'm asking, because I'm interested in this kind of tools in general and I might offer a general solution based on Tiddlywiki.

Why do you need to document the connections externally? Isn't it enough to reference one node from another and provide some context?

It's true that there isn't much of market and I've had good decafs. However, one issue is that the process that removes caffeine is expensive, so it's really hard to find African decaf for example. I could only find Colo

Well, if I'd have it my way, I would write the derivations in Haskell. That way, I would have a clearer picture of the different data types that flow through the build process.

I have a different subjective experience. The mixing between parenthesis and braces and the lack of standard indentation makes some derivations really hard to read. I can't give you an example right now, but I've been looking at t
