I don’t think there is a single web site with human readable javascript on the web anymore. With all the bundlers and minifiers manglers etc, delivered js is already as closed as a wasm binary would be.

Having a unified VM with established sandboxing requirements is nothing like JVM. It's more like JavaScript itself, only lower level. What's bad about this?

Hahah I was but since you put it this way I thought what would happen and it would be glorious. But you know whats gonna happen right? Someone will create a “jqif” library that will run same if 10 times (maybe throw in a transpiler) or what

Great idea. Why stop there? I say let's make "if" conditions randomly work on false values 1/1000th of the time. That will teach them.

I have a 15” 2016 model and I’m close to throwing it out of my office window. My b and n keys acted up randomly. B would hit twice on each press and n would miss keystrokes sometimes. Cleaned it with air, massaged the keys, removed caps and

You create a policy [1] for each upload and sign it. The users browser has to provide the policy which can set the path (or prefix), limit file size etc. [1]: http://docs.aws.amazon.com/AmazonS3/latest/API/sig

I bought it partly because I like the offline tracker idea, other stuff seems to have some cloud backend. Also wanted to support development, it was on the front page a couple months ago. Decent product, if you are looking for something lik

Speaking about the BMW i3, they provide a standard 8 year battery + motor warranty. That basically covers what an EV is. Remaining parts are already on ICE cars with well known maintenance requirements.

The title is misleading. Cost per mile is calculated as the initial vehicle price over range. It would be interesting to see if electricity cost per mile driven was also falling.

I disassembled "n" a couple weeks ago, not just removing the keycap, but the entire butterfly mechanism. Cleaned up then reattached using glue. Works fine now. As far as I can tell, the mechanism is too fragile / shitty. Ther

The "particular" keyboard is actually quite good to use. I like the way I type on this one. However it's not reliable. A single speck of dust under the keycap then you have misfires. Keys get mushy for no reason, get stuck et

I charge my i3 at home right now and it's feasible. European AC plugs have 220V and can supply up to 16A before melting the socket. That is 3.5kwh charging. 33kwh battery in i3 can be charged in around 10 hours from zero which provides

I don't think that you can easily check if the user already liked your page so that approach would not work.

The caching argument is solid though. I think it's the best cached piece of js after google analytics. Should still affect the parse time and overall responsiveness of pages though.

BMW has i3 (pure electric) and i8 (plug in hybrid). I drive a i3 daily and I'd say they have done a good job. It looks ugly but range is acceptable, performance is better than other options (Tesla is not here in my country) and the qua

What we do is to add a signature to url. For example image.jpg?w=500&sig=<hmac of w=500> so the server can validate that the request url originated from us and we can add more image sizes by just generating new urls with correct s
