So I thought from the title that they were releasing a bunch of rats to a minefield and let them trigger the mines. But apparently mines are sensitive to much larger weights and it does not work like that. Rats are trained to sense the mine

Yeah it makes a lot of sense to do it this way, however it does not feel that nefarious when there were plausable workarounds anyway.

Can you load, let's say maps.google.com/somepage in a hidden iframe and use postmessage to send location data if it already has access? Or do browsers force top level navigation for such permissions?

Yeah _0ffh's point makes sense on the path found. But even if it finds a path that is basically one horizontal one vertical line, it should still check the immediate neighbors only.

Am I missing something that this is doing something other than finding shortest paths? For example A* on an empty map should generate a diagonal path with almost no checks outside the paths immediate neighbors. But I get this: https:/

Twitter has been "done" for half a decade now. It just keeps going despite being a cesspool. It was never the trendy or the biggest social network. I don't think it will collapse. I personally only use twitter to follow thing

I deployed stuff on GCP but we moved to AWS after stability issues and horrendous support experience on GCP. And that was easy because we did not commit to any GCP exclusive services (because they tend to shut down all thr time). On AWS we

Dns over TLS has been a life saver due to this shit. I’ve my modem exposing its own dns server but using a dns over tls upstream instead of my ISP. Works perfectly.

Kind of unrelated to the actual discussion but I just realised that I never minimize things on mac. I know what the yellow bubble does, never once clicked it, neither used the shortcut whatever it is. Is this common? I used it on windows bu

So you are sure that some tech that you avoided completely (and I assume have zero experience in) is a terrible piece of software. Great. What is your take on the postal service structure of Turkmenistan btw?

Why would anyone want to buy food with crypto anyway? Can’t understand that. It is not faster. It is not cheaper to transfer. It is not even as anonymous as cash I’d say. I can see why would someone buy stuff online using crypto but this

Is pinboard still a thing? I've an account but haven't used it for ages. Maciej seems to have left twitter, http://blog.pinboard.in resolves to a placeholder page. Thought it was abandoned at this point.
