YAML has a lot of quirks. I've written a fair share of YAML config files and I might still prefer it to JSON for that use case. However, JSON is as barebones as it gets and requires zero brain power to read. It's not just toolin

On the other hand, VsCode dominates the basic editor space. TypeScript basically became the standard in web development. GitHub is MS, NPM is MS. .net is now open source and I'd not be surprised if it starts getting popular again. I&#x

Are you sure about this? It it is not explicitly written somewhere it is not mandatory to use USB-C. There has to be some documents stating the exact name USB-C or the designated standard codes etc. how can this be enforced otherwise? And h

I play vanilla except I always disable cliffs. That's it. I sometimes edit resource distribution if I wish to experiment with specific transports etc but cliffs always go away. I don't care what they intended as it is not fun for

One of my previous cars came with no spare but “run flat” tires (might be named something else). Basically they have strong sidewalls that do not collapse even without pressure. You can ride on them at much slower speeds to get to a tire sh

Just out of curiousity, took a look at some benchmarks and apparently a M2 macbook pro can hit 300MH/s easily. That would mean something like 30 seconds to hash the entire search space. I guess specilaized GPU implementations can do a

And if you don’t know the phone number you can brute force that pretty easily and it’s all the same. How many bits of enthropy are there on phone numbers?

What would salting do? The sender would need to share the salt anyway. I guess it would eliminate a database of number hashes approach but brute forcing a salted phone number hash should not be a big problem in any case.

How does Apple Watch perform here? I have a Whoop 4.0 which I don't really like that much and was thinking about getting an Apple Watch as soon as they release a new one this fall. I assume it'd have superior data and Apple health

At this point I'm personally convinced that ipv6 is a failed technology. It used to be interesting to see the news about new ipv6 deployments, adoption ratings etc. Now I basically don't care.

I never liked wkhtmltopdf. We experimented with phantomjs, headless chrome, electron, headless firefox etc and headless chrome produces really good results at this point.

It most certainly is. Never had a reason to create pdf documents fast though. Even when you have a user waiting for a PDF download it is generally acceptable.

The best way to create invoices (not just invoices) IMHO is to use an html to pdf converter. There are several API services and you can use headless chrome to do it yourself. Easy to design an invoice using a web route and simply convert it

They do code highlighting, search indexing and symbol resolution. I don't know if those can be disabled but they need them to look at the code, update state (indexes and such, maybe caching on highlighting).

I could also work if Deno had to offer more than what Node does, while being compatible. People would start using Deno and then start using Deno specific things which are not compatible with Node. Long shot though.

Yeah but there are levels of weak typing. JS does not do this as both operands are strings, it compares them as strings. That makes tons of more sense compared to this. Not that JS is the most sane language out there but PHP tends to make i

I guess LTO is right there at the moment. Even LiFePo4 batteries are a lot more safer than Li-Ion ones. From what I’ve seen, I would gladly have a LTO pack in my house.
