Howard I always found your benchmarks as well as your comments and explanations of the results to be very thorough and easy to understand. So thanks for that. I wonder if you had a look at ForestDB which is also based on a B+-tree like stru

223 million rows in 38MB would mean less than a fifth of a byte per row. Is your data really that extremely repetetive?

You have to distinguish between ads and links being part of the page content. As long as you seperate ads clearly from the site content and maybe give them a rel="nofollow" attribute, there should never be negative consequences. P

I guess it does not work like in Germany where rulings by the Constitutional Court have the power of law. So if they say "this law is invalid, you can't just spy on everyone", the second part of the sentence would be law from

Great news, though I guess politicians will find loop holes in this decision that will let them do it anways, albeit slightly differently. I also wonder if this could have implications on drag net data collections by intelligence agencies.

Disadvantage #1 can be simply solved by using a pointer to the "sds" type instead. Then you can be sure that sdscat(&s, "Some more data") updates s to always point at the right memory address and you can'

Yea, I think one can read it either way. What I was trying to point out, is that the number makes it clear what the surveillance is about (and that's nothing related to terrorists).

Absolutely. But as a reaction the others could do it openly and then be astonished when the US government objects :) I think either this or getting as much seperated/independent from the US will have any kind of proper effect. Though I

I personally think that if you need this ASCII art, then your project structure is probably suboptimal. But I nonetheless submitted it because it is an interesting hack.

Sure you can spread out your money across many addresses but at some point they are going to merge at least a bit again when you want to make a payment. Unless you split the money in big enough chunks to make payments from them. Example: yo

Have you used coroutines and threads before? Goroutines are basically coroutines multiplexed on threads. If you want to, you can even just think of them as super lightweight threads. They are not like processes, they share the same address

The code presented is not thread safe. It reads and writes to Counter.c from two different goroutines. It's easy to make this mistake in Go as it's trivial to make your program not only concurrent but also parallel if it utilizes more than
