So for people who pay 5$/user/month for having Gmail on their own domain (which is really the main use a lot of individuals have for Gsuite), this is no-op?

The new Web UI has gotten quite a lot faster since release. Mine fully loads in under a second now, with one more second for hangouts to connect. The Android app I have all the tabs disabled though, but I don't have any speed problems

Yep, the reason they are so effective is because they own the very website that is spreading the slander. So you're really just indirectly paying the website who's blackmailing you to remove the blackmail.

My two favorite recent channels are Adam Ragusea and Ethan Chlebowski. I love the more down to earth home cook recipes.

Interesting that Apple just rolled over, but faced with similar requests, Google defended the emails of 4 NYT writers: https://www.nytimes.com/2021/06/04/us/politics/times-reporte...

It looks like a worse version of new reddit? Why would I want that?

Any real redditor still uses old.reddit.com, the day they get rid of that, I'm guessing the same thing that happened to digg will happen.

At least they have still kept old.reddit.com around, which thankfully doesn't have most of the new bullshit. The day they kill that is the day reddit will be truly dead.

Imo focusing on weather is overrated. I worked in the bay area for 3 years, and year the constant weather is cool but for me, far more important is where my friends, family and the things I want to be near are. A nice house, cool activities

No one is forcing you to use it, and moving SMS to Voice wasn't great (though Hangouts never really was meant to be an SMS app), but for people like me who have used Hangouts for over a decade to chat with friends and family, it defini

Probably. Also, I'm not familiar with FaceTime's stack, but Duo was built from scratch on top of WebRTC. Justin Uberti, the co-inventor of WebRTC, was on the Duo team, as well as Hangout Video and Stadia. He recently left Google f

At the presentation at least, they said it would still be E2E encrypted even on the web. Duo is also E2E encrypted and supports web.

It's no different than Hangouts. We got fed misleading headlines about how it was KILLED for years, but it seems like as far as users are concerned, it'll just be a UI change. Behind the scene they are migrating it to Chat, but al

Doesn't the same apply to chat software / iMessage? Also, FaceTime isn't really conferencing software (though they added a bunch of conferencing feature just now). It's closer to Duo, which focuses on casual face to face

But the hardware with M1 in it wasn't announced until the Fall event. So the comment about "new MBP" wouldn't apply. The only reason M1 was announced at WWDC is because it requires work from developers. New MBP doesn

Not the best, but right click on one of the titles, inspect element, it should put you on a #video-title, you then just want to uncheck the -webkit-line-clamp and set a very high max-height like 999999px Or just add the following to any CSS

It's just a bad look specifically for the head of DEI, who's whole job is to promote diversity. If it was any other position they probably wouldn't have cared.

I think the point is that the blog post is not really a big issue if you're an average engineer, but as head of DEI it's not a great look, hence the re-assignment.
