I can understand the battery but admit the case is weaker for screen and other components. If someone gets hurt using an Apple product it’s international news [1] and everyone ignores the reports 5 days later when it shown they were using a

It's a lot of information for a forum comment. I will provide a pointer though. I think the book at cmosvlsi.com is pretty good for an introduction to the realities of modern digital IC design. For more information on the topic of thi

That’s really interesting. It seems like a foreign world compared to what I’m used to. :)

This is the one I personally have been waiting for. Thanks! On the power distribution did you notice any bypassing? There are a number of ways to do it now. I have no idea how they did it, if at all, in the 70s. Also, did you notice any

That’s interesting. Do you notice any meaningful loss of productivity during the 65WPM time compared to the 90WPM time? I just did a word count on some emails I write and they’re usually about 100 words, but I know they took about 10 minut

That makes sense. That’s the current limiting resistor. It protects the protection. See page 12 of this deck. http://www.eng.biu.ac.il/temanad/files/2017/02/Lecture-9-IO....

DFT = Design For Test https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Design_for_testing They have a resistor to ground in parallel with the buffer? I get the diode but I can only assume the resistor is a weak pull to prevent charge

Can you write about how they did IO then? For example, was there ESD protection? I’d be interested in a compare and contrast to a MOSIS or UoU IO PAD cell. http://pages.hmc.edu/harris/cmosvlsi/4e/lect/le

Is it “a lot more emphasis” or that the math education of STEM students should be rebalanced? I’m an EE and I think I had a math class every quarter for two years if I remember right. I tend to agree with Strang’s too much calculus essay.

That’s actually an interesting reply to the parent because, according to his book, his work was not rigorous and all needed to be redone. https://www.quora.com/Did-Elon-Musk-write-any-code-at-X-or-Z...

It’s surprising, to me, that the address adder and the ALU are so comparable in area. I’m guessing the adder is like 1/3 the size of the ALU even though the ALU has so much more functionality. My guess is the flip flops needed to regi

On average this analysis makes sense but cash flow is also important to consider. If the thing you’re investing in to get 7% doesn’t make payments, or has a single bad year and doesn’t yield like it’s supposed to, you could be up the creek

I’m not saying your claim is wrong but it’s not clear to me how that article backs the claim that China is pushing hard on RISC-V. It seems more like the old CEO of Arm China was doing no good very bad things, most likely for his own benef
