Can anyone explain why there would be a limit to contacts? My best guess was to prevent spam: 10,000 contacts is probably in the top 1% of users, but might be much more heavily seen in bots. Side note: Gmail offers a "Most Contacted" featur

Next time you update your add-on, perhaps make it redirect once to your homepage, where you invite the user to make a donation for continued support? You might not get many donations, but I know that adding ads to a Firefox plugin would mak

Resume is something I've wanted from an operating system for a long time. Nothing is more frustrating than leaving your computer for an hour, only to come back and realize updates demanded that they restart your computer and you need to rel

This would only work for a distinct set of documents/websites, correct? If an article completely duplicated the content of another article, wouldn't this algorithm treat the same almost identically, if it does not use "links" of some kind?

What do you want, a critique? Input? because it's hard to do anything with simply a one sentence description and a url.

Well, it's probably a mix of feeling confident in it's ability to answer the Final Jeopardy question (based on previous performances), along with wanting to maximize its score as much as possible, especially considering it has to count tha

Isn't going to be pretty infeasible to take down Amazon? I guess they did take down PayPal, Mastercard, and Visa, but I always assumed people thought that it was pretty hard to saturate Amazon.

Like I said in my last sentence, there is a difference between not paying suppliers and lying to customers, and using warez in a start-up. It's like saying that since I think downloading music is ok (I don't), I must also think killing peop

I actually would not be totally against this (although of course having a paid user would be better). Would you rather have someone use/pirate your product and later possibly buy it (when they can't live without it/have more money/etc), or

I'm going to go against the grain here because I'd like a discussion, although I'll fully admit I'm not nearly as experienced in start-ups as many of you are. I also know this post and the HN post refers to a fairly large startup doing this

From my perspective (and it is a very, very small perspective, I'll probably get torn apart), it's very hard to find a co-founder, especially a technical co-founder, without knowing them in person. You need a special set of circumstances fo

IANAL, but I don't think you can have stock as an LLC, You'd need to be a C or S corp. As for wanting to make it something bigger than a "mom and pop shop", that's fine, and you not going out of business last year is great, but you WILL go
