Nothing you can find these days. I seldom released my work. I made a partial clone of the Warcraft 2 game that could load assets from the original game. It used the Windows GDI and native win32 APIs for everything. It was written in C. No c

I leave it on. It acts as a larger scrollbar when I use the mouse/trackpad/whatever pointing device to scroll. Operating systems these days are all about hiding the scrollbar and/or making it as small as possible. The minimap

I partially blame modern game APIs such as DirectX12/Vulkan. Note that I am not saying these APIs are bad, just that the “programmable” part has no default, leaving it up to the developer to figure things out. There was a time when you

The Atari 2600 is a video game console, not a computer. See the other comments. You most certainly were not thinking about the 2600 when you wrote this as it is a cartridge based system similar to the NES.

pfft...that is nothing. I was on a 286 running a DOS IRC client and managed to take back an IRC channel with more than 150 users that was previously taken over... ...no joke. However, in all seriousness: nice.

I personally don't have an issue with SQL. I started my career a couple decades ago as a SQL guy and I still use it occasionally. If you wanted to, you can write tests for the queries. I've done so in the past.

Do you understand that these boards are the size of a credit card? Those mini PCs are far larger than these. I can take a Raspberry Pi and stick it inside a picture frame, for instance. I actually built an e-reader using a Raspberry Pi Zero

The VisionFive 2 developers are working on getting things upstreamed/open-sourced for their board. IIRC the kernel has already mainlined many (if not all) of the patches. Some of the real issues are as follows: 1) Most companies use De

I have to disagree with your comment regarding the GDPR. I like the concept, but the legalities could have been better. I do hope a treaty can be struck between the EU and the US, however.

So, a couple decades ago I was a C/C++ developer (oh and ASM!). I loved life, enjoyed the language. Then, I learned the higher level stuff. SQL, Visual Basic, ASP, C#, PHP, Python, Ruby, etc. I REALLY enjoyed that stuff, and it has fue

AMD actually IS competing, just not so much in gamer space (though they are actually competing there as well, just not with top end) The MI 300 and MI 250 are making huge inroads to the point where they are finally pulling folks away from C

You would cream your pants if you happened to have even 10% of the PC gaming GPU market. Like literally. Stop downplaying markets because of X. The market-share of the PC gaming market is higher than most modern countries of the world.

If you can't tell the difference between > 60hz and 60hz, you may want to get your vision checked. I'd say once you get to 75-80hz the returns start to diminish, and by 120 things are hard to notice, but 60hz and 120hz differen

Ben Eater is awesome. I knew most of the stuff for x86, but revisiting all the things on a breadboard for 6502 and peripherals? AWESOME.Note of the snobbish: you can even build your own graphics card.

There are studies, but the studies are flawed. It depends very much on the country/union. The US raising rates will absolutely slow/stop inflation in the US, and at least slow down worldwide inflation. North Korea? yeah, good luck
