Strong disagree on "technical debt" Rather, the entire world is built on it and there's some level of acceptance required, but we definitely need a shorthand phrase for "we're doing something stupid that will save u

And in non closed systems the set of problems that prevent fully autonomous cars is the same set of problems that prevens fully autonomous trains, ie, recognizing shit getting into the lane of travel but not panic braking for random trash.

Tangential but hits on google isn't really a metric for...anything at all. For instance, "potatoes cause cancer" give us 14,900,000 results. Potatoes do not cause cancer.

I work with similar systems a lot, given the modulation and power output, 1-10km would be a reasonable range band, 10km being line of sight under real world conditions, 1km being light urban propagation. It could theoretically be much worse

I feel like we're reliving the golden age of flight sims again. There are a lot of good options available now including X-Plane, Microsoft Flight Simulator, DCS World, VTOL-VR, Tiny Combat Arena, etc.

It wasn't really the FAA, the FCC just blindly started auctioning off spectrum before thinking to test anything. If they'd left a larger buffer between the bands this wouldn't be an issue but $$$.
