2020, I have a 4 Core CPU, 8Gb of RAM, and loading a webpage that contains text and pictures makes my browser slowdown for about 10 sec. Also, Medium is really not well optimized for big articles with lots of pictures.

If we get back to RSS, can we at least all stick to Atom 1.0 :) ? It's way stricter, simpler and easier to use, and I never found a parser that was not accepting it.

In France we have a Craiglist-like website. They recently moved to ReactJS : https://www.leboncoin.fr/ The website features didn't changed in between. It's basically a pagination + a search based on radius (so DB

Big +1. I would be really interested to find one, only ONE, website where React/Angular was really bringing a better experience and better final product than a standard pure JS with simple Ajax system.

Damn React is complicated. I added Dark mode in my app in a few lines of CSS ( https://github.com/movim/movim/blob/master/public/theme/css/... ) and used the variables across the whole code.

Yes! Time to drop all those React/Angular/Vue… frontend tech! Let's go back to good old Javascript, dividing pages weight by 100, no npm, no complex rendering. We're wasting time in those tech, maybe Facebook needs it i

It is indeed for a transition phase. I agree. But if we need to reduce our CO2 emissions really fast it's one of the most efficient way to cut 1/5 of the emissions without massively changing how the grid and the other things are w

Dropped by 2/3 ok. For a lifespan of, 20 years ? Again a power plant life expectancy is 3, maybe 4 times that. And you need to do the foundation once. You don't replace a wind turbine over a wind turbine, you need to redo the foun

Are solar panel and wind turbines clean ? They need to be changed often, they use lots of concrete (especially for wind turbines), they need lots of materials and have a quite low power factor (10-20%).

Any power plant basically. All those kind of plants are mostly similar (turbines activated by steam that produces electricity), the biggest difference is how you produce the heat.
