It's funny because we also saw a slight increase in the pace of account creation on Movim as well https://movim.eu/ , but I'm not sure if there is a real correlation. But I'm really happy to see that more and

Maybe you should have a look at the Microblog extension over XMPP https://xmpp.org/extensions/xep-0277.html . It allows you to publish Blog articles on your XMPP accounts and let your contacts receive and comment them :

Happy to see that link on HN :) I've been pretty much pushing XMPP for past decade, especially to show that it can also be used as a really decent base to do social networking (we didn't waited for ActivityPub to do federated soci

I personally have an issue with this "Utility/Functional" CSS pattern. To me I still think that the good old "HTML describe how the content is organized, CSS describe how this content looks like" is the way to go. I

I agree with those statements. That is why we are using Atom on top of Pubsub in XMPP to built social networking features. The sub-layer is changing (Atom is embeded into Pubsub XML on top of TCP real time streams, XMPP) but in the end the

Some, maybe dumb, thought. Imposing tariffs and therefore reducing the goods that are transiting to (and from) the US across the globe is not, indirectly, ecologically good? Less goods transiting, less transport to bring them across oceans,

It can maybe change the Web, but not the Internet, and only a portion of it :) ActivityPub is based on HTTP/JSON standards, for real-time solutions in other "out of Web" environments I'd prefer to use something like XMPP

Tell that to Thinkpad users that can upgrade 15 years old second-hand Thinkpads with compatible parts bought from China (also apply to other notebooks). How easy it is to change the faulty keyboard on a MacBook Pro?
