Most of the Matrix gateways are relying on …libpurple that is the base library of Pidgin :)

As it is explained it is possible to provide a custom CSS stylesheet for your own blog. Just provide the link to the file (that can be hosted anywhere) in your account configuration. There is no "advanced" UI like on Tumblr where
