This really cracked me up, indeed mostly funny and maybe slightly scary or at least off-putting that it's so human-like.

It's a bit like going from assembly to C++, except we don't have good rigid rules for high-level program specification. If we had a rigid "high-level language" to express programs, orders or magnitude more high-level tha

A huge bottleneck seems the lack of memory between sessions, at least with Claude Code. Sure, I can write things into a text file, but it's not the same as having an AI actually remember the work done earlier. Is this possible in any w

Probably I'm being naive, but what do you mean? I'm saying one way or another, apartments need to get built, either by government or private. As long as at the end of the day, as many small studios as needed to house absolutely ev

Is this also the case for token-heavy uses such as Claude Code? Not sure if I will end up using CC for development in the future, but if I end up leaning on that, I wonder if there would be a desire to essentially have it run 24/7. Whe

Great writeup. I appreciate the bravery. To solve the housing issues, all we have to do is build basic soviet-era apartment buildings everywhere and all will be good. The fact that we don't do this in many countries with crippling real

Not an MS fan, but you guys rock for making VS Code, really changed software development for me. Especially combined with good language servers (Redhat for Java, intelliphense for PHP, Clangd for C/C++, and some python stuff). Yay! Sur

VS Code is a downgrade from open source to freeware. At least the C++ plugin is freeware. And they block access to the extension store from any fork (self-compiling VS code is also considered a fork). So if you are an OSS purist, VS is bad.

All the manufacturer has to do is publish an APK on their website. If all apps did this, Google would have no power. It's very easy for a volunteer to host the APK somewhere in an archiving effort. Much easier that it ever has been on

Good point. To uncover new good things, you have to jump in blind without much preexisting knowledge, e.g. when meeting people. You have to enjoy that process itself as well as any connections that come out of it.
