Rust is such a niche language still that I'd consider it a red flag if I was an investor.

It would make no sense since contrary to popular belief you can be easily tracked through the use of the blockchain. And you also can't erase evidence.

You check all of that __before__ the deploy. You don't let that stuff in. And once you have something up it stays up. Otherwise a single idiot can bring down the whole system.

Note that this wasn't careless programming. The developer who was publishing the module pulled the release because he was threatened by a company named Kik who wanted to take over his namespace. After pulling it Joyent had no choice bu

I came here to read about Cardano, then I realized that this was about the programming language.

This somehow reminds me of what happened on Freenode a few weeks ago. They started to ban everybody who posed any amount of threat to the platform (real or illusory) which ended up killing the platform.

I want to do the same, but I don't have the math knowledge. I have the programming knowledge though. Do you want to collaborate? Feel free to send a DM if you do.

And you also have the problem of writing that type checker in a dynamic language, so you also have no way to check whether the checker itself works according to your specification.

It is amazing to see how so many so-called programmers can make a living without even reading the freaking documentation. And when I cide the docs on some topic they look at me as if I was performing a magic trick.

I agree 100%. I can't wait to hear the cries of failing businesses because their no-code / low code developers can no longer understand how the system works. And while waiting I'm broadening my knowledge into the field of dev

You can move there without telling anyone. For example I live in the same house on paper where I was living 16 years ago. No one cares and no one will go and check if you live there. I'm pretty sure you can make this work.

I'm 95% sure that most of those companies have 5+ year contracts they can't cancel so they will keep trying to force people into the office.

Agree __100%__. Now that it is proven what we've already known for a very long time (as a programmer I have no business sitting in an office), let's just not waste our time anymore.

There is a *much* worse trend than trying to force office time: forcing non-stop pair programming. It is not only counter-productive, but also extremely tiring for many people. I'm pretty sure that the rationale behind it is that insta

You (and most commenters on this branch) forget the most important thing: there are bazillions of libraries that work with react so I don't have to produce all that untested vanilla code. I only have to wire them together in a way I se
