Yes at a simple level you're right, but you could use the same argument about lots of things, for example I could opt-out of using the Internet but that should not give ISPs carte blanche with my personal data. As to your question, I use FB

I loathe full height single person cubes personally, however it was explained to me at my current job (large multinational) that one rationale for cube farms is that legal can treat these as 'laboratory conditions'. It's common for us to wo

Gawd no. I've worked in a variety of environments and even a factory floor open plan office is better than cubicles. Cubicles in my experience promote even worse behavior like taking conference calls on speaker phones, I've never had to rel

The simplest opt-in/out I think would be satisfactory would be to limit the amount of data they can associate with me to an arbitrary time period (six months sounds about right). I think there has to be a price to pay from the data aggregat

I was watching 'The Pixar Story' the other day and they talked about the campus they opened in 2000. Jobs talked about the importance of 'unplanned interactions' and workplace being key to the success of a creative company. http://www.armc

You have to evaluate how you want to work from a personal perspective and your relationship with the company you work for. I agree that constantly over-working can have a detrimental effect, but so can not reacting to the 'right' deadline.

That's a great insight, but it's interesting (though I'm not arguing wrong) that it is required. It is problematic to associate profit with morality, and this cuts both ways. The author states that trillions spent on charity is sinful which

Interesting listen. The topic is pretty challenging, especially so for the left leaning where quite often the political policy related by affluent lefties is "to give people the same opportunity as me" to compete in a meritocracy.

I don't think I'm twisting the argument. You said that you believe you gathered these skills as a result of your curriculum choice. Although I think plenty of other comments defending Liberal Arts make this point more explicitly about the r

I agree and disagree. If you take a historical perspective of the role of universities with respect to corporate employment a university education was just needed to validate whether someone was of 'high calibre'. In the past anecdotally at

I'm curious about this, how does the price of education increase because of increased enrollment? I just figure when lot's of people go to Walmart that doesn't increase the cost of their goods. Or are you inferring that colleges could fallb
